Hearts in Winter is a novel in progress - a fictionalised triple biography with a bit of speculation thrown in (unless I can prove that my speculations are fact).
Why did I create a website for a novel that isn't finished? Because a lot of people asked me about it. A novel of these proportions takes a very long time to write, and I'm still a more talented website developer than I am a writer (even if I'm working on changing that).
Hearts in Winter is a novel being written in pieces as information becomes available. I'm certain that as I learn more many of those pieces will be re-written. It's a novel without a publisher, but if I don't find one when the book is finished I will publish it myself, because I believe the story deserves to be heard. It's a very human story, with some terrible but necessary lessons contained within.
The book is in 3 parts -
Zoya 1897 - 1920
Lydia 1921 - 1938
Nikolai 1939 - 1952
and is sadly full of war, plague, deception & betrayal. However, it also tells of love, loyalty (even devotion!) and sacrifice.
If you thought I was going to tell you exactly what the plot is before it's even half finished, you are about to be disappointed... but you can read the biographies of the three main "characters" to get some idea of the "thrust".
